When to Use

When to Use

Standardization of visual acuity in clinical trials
Low vision assessment where Snellen charts lack resolution
Pediatric ophthalmology scoring
Calculating mean visual acuity across a population
Section 2

Formula & Logic

Visual Acuity Formulas

Pearls/Pitfalls

LogMAR Advantages

Unlike Snellen, LogMAR provides a linear scale where each line represents a change of 0.1 log units. This allows for parametric statistical analysis and more accurate tracking of progression in low-vision patients.
