✅ Urticaria well-controlled. Current therapy effective. Continue current regimen.

💡 Clinical Pearl

Daily documentation for 7 days (UAS7) is superior to single-day assessment for treatment decisions. Many patients underestimate itch severity—validated scales reduce physician bias. Early escalation to biologic therapy improves quality of life substantially.

When to Use

When to Use

Self-assessment of disease activity in patients with chronic spontaneous urticaria (CSU) / hives.
Monitoring the response to second-generation H1-antihistamines or Omalizumab.
Initial diagnostic workup to determine clinical baseline severity.
To guide treatment escalation according to international consensus (EAACI/GA²LEN/EDF/WAO).

Calculation Note

The "7" in UAS7 refers to the sum of daily scores over 7 consecutive days. This provides a more representative picture of disease stability than a single 24-hour snapshot.
