Any deviation from normal course not requiring intervention. Includes: Anti-emetics, antipyretics, analgesics, diuretics, electrolytes, and physical therapy.
Pharmacological treatment
Requiring pharmacological treatment other than allowed for Grade I. Includes: Antibiotics, blood transfusions, and TPN.
Intervention required
Requiring surgical, endoscopic or radiological intervention.
Life-threatening
Life-threatening complication requiring ICU management.
Mortality
Death of a patient.
