ATRIDOX (doxycycline hyclate) is a tetracycline antibiotic that inhibits bacterial protein synthesis by binding to the 30S ribosomal subunit, preventing aminoacyl-tRNA from binding to the A site. It also exhibits anti-inflammatory effects by inhibiting matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) and reducing cytokine production.

| Breastfeeding | Doxycycline is excreted into human breast milk in low concentrations. The milk-to-plasma (M/P) ratio is approximately 0.6-0.8. Theoretical risk of dental staining and bone growth suppression in nursing infants. Caution should be exercised; temporary discontinuation of breastfeeding or use of an alternative antibiotic may be considered. |

Risk of fetal harm including skeletal retardation, reduced bone growth, and dental discoloration. It is placed into periodontal pockets (≥5 mm) and provides sustained release of doxycycline over 7 days. Avoid concurrent use with systemic antibiotics due to potential additive effects. Do not apply in patients with known hypersensitivity to tetracyclines. Monitor for localized tissue irritation or allergic reaction. Not for use in patients with severe renal impairment (eCrCl <30 mL/min). |
