Acetated Ringer's solution provides isotonic crystalloid fluid and electrolytes, with acetate as a bicarbonate precursor metabolized in the liver and peripheral tissues, buffering metabolic acidosis. It restores intravascular volume and corrects electrolyte imbalances.
