ACTICORT vs MAGNACORT
Comparing the clinical profiles, pharmacokinetic behaviors, and safety indices of these two therapeutic agents.
Topical corticosteroid with anti-inflammatory, antipruritic, and vasoconstrictive actions. Suppresses cytokine production and inflammatory mediators via glucocorticoid receptor binding.
Corticosteroid receptor agonist; modulates gene transcription to produce anti-inflammatory and immunosuppressive effects.
5-60 mg orally once daily, or divided twice daily, depending on condition severity and response.
5 mg orally once daily for 7 days, then 5 mg orally every other day for 7 days. Alternatively, 1 mg/kg intravenously every 12 hours for 14 days.
