Acetaminophen has been associated with cases of acute liver failure, at times resulting in liver transplant and death. It is unknown whether lixisenatide is excreted in human breast milk. In animal studies, lixisenatide was detected in milk at low concentrations. The M/P ratio has not been established. Caution should be exercised when administered to a nursing woman, considering the importance of the drug to the mother and the potential for adverse effects on the breastfed infant.
