ADVIL vs DICLOFENAC

Non-selective cyclooxygenase (COX-1 and COX-2) inhibitor, reducing prostaglandin synthesis, thereby reducing pain, fever, and inflammation.
Diclofenac inhibits cyclooxygenase (COX) enzymes, primarily COX-2, reducing prostaglandin synthesis, thereby exerting analgesic, anti-inflammatory, and antipyretic effects.
200-400 mg orally every 4-6 hours as needed; maximum 1200 mg/day (OTC). For prescription: 400-800 mg orally 3-4 times daily; maximum 3200 mg/day.
Oral: 50 mg twice daily or 75 mg twice daily; maximum 150 mg/day. Topical: apply 4 times daily. IM: 75 mg once daily.
