Mechanism of Action
ALFENTA

μ-opioid receptor agonist that activates G-protein coupled receptors to inhibit adenylate cyclase, decreasing c AMP production, leading to reduced neuronal excitability and pain transmission.

BENZONATATE

Benzonatate is a local anesthetic structurally related to tetracaine. It suppresses cough by anesthetizing stretch receptors in the respiratory tract, reducing the cough reflex.
