Biaxin (clarithromycin) is a macrolide antibiotic with activity against atypical pathogens (e.g., Legionella, Mycoplasma, Chlamydia). It is a potent CYP3A4 inhibitor, increasing levels of statins, warfarin, and colchicine. Use caution in myasthenia gravis; may exacerbate weakness.
