Combination oral contraceptive containing norethindrone acetate and ethinyl estradiol. Norethindrone acetate is a progestin that suppresses gonadotropin release, inhibiting ovulation; ethinyl estradiol is an estrogen that provides feedback inhibition of follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) and luteinizing hormone (LH), preventing follicular development and ovulation.
