Pseudoephedrine is a sympathomimetic amine that acts as a decongestant via alpha-adrenergic receptor agonism in the respiratory tract mucosa, causing vasoconstriction and reduced edema.
10-20 mg intramuscularly or intravenously every 4-6 hours as needed, up to a maximum of 80 mg/day.
