ANHYDRON vs CHLOROTHIAZIDE

Inhibits the sodium-potassium-2 chloride (Na-K-2Cl) cotransporter in the thick ascending limb of the loop of Henle, reducing reabsorption of sodium, chloride, and potassium, leading to increased urine output.
Chlorothiazide inhibits the Na+-Cl- symporter in the distal convoluted tubule, reducing sodium and chloride reabsorption and promoting diuresis. It also causes vasodilation by reducing peripheral vascular resistance.
Oral: 25-100 mg once daily in the morning, or 50-100 mg every other day; maximum 200 mg/day.
500 mg to 1000 mg orally or intravenously once or twice daily.
