Methylprednisolone sodium succinate is a glucocorticoid that binds to the glucocorticoid receptor, leading to modulation of gene expression. Intramuscular: 40-80 mg every 2-4 weeks; Intra-articular: 5-40 mg depending on joint size; Intralesional: 2.5-25 mg; Oral: 4-12 mg/day divided every 6-12 hours.
Intravenous (IV) or intramuscular (IM) injection: 10-40 mg initially, then 10-40 mg every 6-12 hours. For pulse therapy: 1 g IV over 30 minutes daily for 3-5 days.
