Azelastine hydrochloride is a phthalazinone derivative that exerts its effect by competitively inhibiting histamine at the H1 receptor site. This dual action provides both antihistaminic and anti-inflammatory effects.
Meclizine is a histamine H1 receptor antagonist that acts centrally in the vestibular system to suppress nausea and vomiting. It also has anticholinergic and sedative effects.
