Azlin is a penicillin antibiotic that inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis by binding to penicillin-binding proteins (PBPs), leading to cell lysis.
PROBAMPACIN is a synthetic aminoglycoside antibiotic that inhibits bacterial protein synthesis by binding to the 30S ribosomal subunit, causing misreading of mRNA and preventing translocation of peptidyl-tRNA from the A-site to the P-site.
1-2 grams intravenously every 4-6 hours; total daily dose up to 12 grams for serious infections.
100 mg IV every 12 hours over 30 minutes.
