Dicyclomine is a muscarinic acetylcholine receptor antagonist (anticholinergic) that inhibits the action of acetylcholine on structures innervated by postganglionic parasympathetic nerves. It reduces smooth muscle spasm in the gastrointestinal tract by blocking M1, M2, and M3 receptors, with a predominant effect on M3 receptors in the gut.
Hydrocodone is a mu-opioid receptor agonist; homatropine methylbromide is an anticholinergic that reduces gastrointestinal motility and secretions.
20 mg orally three times daily; may increase to 40 mg three times daily if tolerated.
1 tablet (containing homatropine methylbromide 5 mg and hydrocodone bitartrate 5 mg) orally every 4 to 6 hours as needed for cough. Maximum 6 tablets per 24 hours.

Homatropine methylbromide: Predominantly fecal elimination via biliary excretion as unchanged quaternary ammonium compound (~70-80%); renal excretion of unchanged drug (~10-20%).
