BRISTACYCLINE is a tetracycline antibiotic that reversibly binds to the 30S ribosomal subunit, inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis by blocking the attachment of aminoacyl-tRNA to the mRNA-ribosome complex.
Tetracycline inhibits bacterial protein synthesis by binding to the 30S ribosomal subunit, preventing aminoacyl-tRNA from binding to the A site.
250 mg orally every 6 hours for 7-14 days.
250-500 mg orally every 6 hours or 500 mg to 1 g intravenously every 6-12 hours, not to exceed 4 g/day.
