BYFAVO vs NIRAVAM

NIRAVAM (alprazolam) is a benzodiazepine that potentiates GABA-A receptor activity by increasing the frequency of chloride channel opening, leading to neuronal hyperpolarization and decreased excitability.
For induction and maintenance of general anesthesia: 0.3 mg/kg intravenously over 30 seconds, followed by an infusion of 1.5 mg/kg/hour adjusted to effect. Additional boluses of 0.075 mg/kg may be given as needed.
