This leads to cell lysis and death primarily during active cell division.
Cefprozil inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis by binding to penicillin-binding proteins (PBPs), inhibiting peptidoglycan cross-linking.
250-500 mg orally twice daily for 10 days; for community-acquired pneumonia, 500 mg twice daily for 10 days. Intravenous: 750-1500 mg every 8 hours.
