CELESTONE SOLUSPAN vs EOHILIA

Corticosteroid that suppresses inflammation by inhibiting phospholipase A2, reducing prostaglandin and leukotriene synthesis, and decreasing immune cell activity.
EOHILIA (budesonide) is a corticosteroid with potent glucocorticoid activity and weak mineralocorticoid activity. It binds to the glucocorticoid receptor, leading to inhibition of inflammatory mediators such as cytokines and arachidonic acid metabolites, thereby reducing inflammation in the esophagus.
1-2 mL (6-12 mg/mL betamethasone acetate and betamethasone sodium phosphate) intramuscularly or intralesionally, repeat every 1-4 weeks as needed.
For adults: 0.5 mg/kg IV every 2 weeks, infused over 60 minutes. Maximum single dose: 40 mg.

Plasma terminal half-life: betamethasone phosphate ~3-5 hours; betamethasone acetate ~6-8 hours. Clinical duration extended due to ester hydrolysis and depot effect (up to 7-14 days for IM injection).
Terminal elimination half-life is 52 hours (steady state reached after 10-12 days of daily dosing)
