CELESTONE SOLUSPAN vs FLORONE

Corticosteroid that suppresses inflammation by inhibiting phospholipase A2, reducing prostaglandin and leukotriene synthesis, and decreasing immune cell activity.
Glucocorticoid receptor agonist; induces phospholipase A2 inhibitory proteins (lipocortins), which suppress release of arachidonic acid and subsequent prostaglandin/leukotriene synthesis; also suppresses cytokine production and immune cell migration.
1-2 mL (6-12 mg/mL betamethasone acetate and betamethasone sodium phosphate) intramuscularly or intralesionally, repeat every 1-4 weeks as needed.
Topical: Apply a thin layer to affected skin once or twice daily. Maximum use: 45 g/week.
