Clindamycin is a lincosamide antibiotic that inhibits bacterial protein synthesis by binding to the 50S ribosomal subunit, disrupting peptide chain initiation. It may also exhibit anti-inflammatory and immunomodulatory effects via inhibition of neutrophil chemotaxis and phagocytosis.
Silver sulfadiazine exerts bactericidal activity by releasing silver ions that bind to bacterial DNA and cell wall components, causing disruption of cellular respiration and DNA replication. It also inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis via the sulfadiazine component.
Apply thin layer to affected area twice daily.
