CORMAX vs CYCLOCORT
Comparing the clinical profiles, pharmacokinetic behaviors, and safety indices of these two therapeutic agents.
Corticosteroid with anti-inflammatory, antipruritic, and vasoconstrictive effects. Binds to glucocorticoid receptors, modulating gene expression to inhibit phospholipase A2, reduce prostaglandin and leukotriene synthesis, and suppress cytokine release.
Topical corticosteroid with anti-inflammatory, antipruritic, and vasoconstrictive actions. Suppresses cytokine production, inhibits phospholipase A2, and reduces prostaglandin synthesis.
2.5 mg orally twice daily; maximum 10 mg/day.
Apply a thin film topically to affected area twice daily (morning and evening). Not for ophthalmic use.
