Hydroxyprogesterone caproate is a synthetic progestin that acts as an agonist of the progesterone receptor. Hydroxyprogesterone caproate: 250-500 mg IM weekly, starting at 16-20 weeks gestation and continuing until 37 weeks or delivery, for prevention of preterm birth in women with singleton pregnancy and prior spontaneous preterm birth.
250-500 mg intramuscularly once weekly. For recurrent preterm birth prevention: 250 mg intramuscularly weekly starting at 16-20 weeks gestation until 36 weeks.
