4-20 mg IV or IM every 4-6 hours; for cerebral edema: 10 mg IV followed by 4 mg IM/IV every 6 hours; for shock: 20 mg IV initially then 2-6 mg/kg IV bolus or 40 mg IV every 2-6 hours as needed.
