Elifemme is a small-molecule inhibitor of the bromodomain and extraterminal (BET) family of proteins, specifically BRD4. It disrupts the interaction between BET proteins and acetylated histones, thereby inhibiting oncogene transcription including MYC and BCL2.
Combination oral contraceptive: suppresses gonadotropin release via estrogen and progestin, inhibiting ovulation, thickening cervical mucus, and altering endometrial lining.
Subcutaneous injection: 0.5 mL (15 mg) once weekly.
One tablet (norgestrel 0.3 mg, ethinyl estradiol 0.03 mg) orally once daily for 21 consecutive days, followed by 7 days of placebo.
