Thiazide diuretic that inhibits the sodium-chloride symporter in the distal convoluted tubule of the nephron, reducing sodium and chloride reabsorption and increasing water excretion.
Thiazide diuretic that inhibits sodium-chloride symporter in the distal convoluted tubule, increasing excretion of sodium and water.
Oral, 2.5–5 mg once daily. Maximum dose 10 mg/day.
Initiate at 12.5-25 mg orally once daily. Titrate to 50-100 mg once daily. Maximum 200 mg per day.
