Epanova may be taken with or without food, but taking with a low-fat meal may improve absorption. Avoid high-fat meals as they can increase GI side effects. Grapefruit juice has no known interaction. No significant food restrictions; maintain a heart-healthy diet.
No direct food interactions as Aminos 5% is administered intravenously. However, oral dietary intake must be coordinated with total parenteral nutrition to avoid excessive protein or electrolyte intake.

In animal reproduction studies, oral administration of icosapent ethyl to pregnant rats and rabbits during organogenesis at doses up to 5 and 7 times the human dose (based on body surface area) did not reveal evidence of harm to the fetus. However, there are no adequate and well-controlled studies in pregnant women. Fetal risk cannot be ruled out; use only if potential benefit justifies potential risk.
