EYDENZELT (bexarotene) is a retinoid that selectively binds to and activates retinoid X receptors (RXRs), which regulate gene expression involved in cell differentiation, proliferation, and apoptosis. It induces apoptosis and inhibits cell growth in malignant T-cells.
Non-selective cyclooxygenase (COX-1 and COX-2) inhibitor, reducing prostaglandin synthesis involved in pain, inflammation, and fever.
1 mg subcutaneously once weekly.
Oral: 200-400 mg every 4-6 hours as needed; maximum single dose 400 mg, maximum daily dose 1200 mg for OTC use.
