EYDENZELT (bexarotene) is a retinoid that selectively binds to and activates retinoid X receptors (RXRs), which regulate gene expression involved in cell differentiation, proliferation, and apoptosis. It induces apoptosis and inhibits cell growth in malignant T-cells.
Reversible inhibition of cyclooxygenase (COX-1 and COX-2) leading to decreased prostaglandin synthesis; exhibits both central and peripheral analgesic effects.
1 mg subcutaneously once weekly.
500 mg orally as an initial dose, followed by 250 mg every 6 hours as needed, not to exceed 1 week.
