Pandel (hydrocortisone probutate) is a topical corticosteroid that acts by inducing phospholipase A2 inhibitory proteins, collectively called lipocortins. These proteins inhibit the release of arachidonic acid from membrane phospholipids, thereby reducing the synthesis of prostaglandins, leukotrienes, and other inflammatory mediators.
