Fluocinonide is a corticosteroid that binds to the glucocorticoid receptor, leading to inhibition of phospholipase A2, reduction of prostaglandin and leukotriene synthesis, and suppression of inflammatory mediators. METI-DERM contains methylprednisolone aceponate, a corticosteroid that binds to glucocorticoid receptors, modulating gene expression to inhibit pro-inflammatory cytokines, phospholipase A2, and prostaglandin synthesis, thereby reducing inflammation, pruritus, and vasodilation.
Apply a thin film to affected area once to twice daily. Topical use only. Maximum duration of continuous use is 2 weeks. Total dosage should not exceed 60 g per week.
