Focalin XR (dexmethylphenidate) is a central nervous system stimulant. It blocks the reuptake of norepinephrine and dopamine into presynaptic neurons, increasing their concentrations in the synaptic cleft. The d-threo enantiomer is pharmacologically active.
MYDAYIS is a fixed-dose combination of amphetamine and dextroamphetamine, which are non-catecholamine sympathomimetic amines with CNS stimulant activity. The mechanism of action in ADHD is not fully elucidated, but they block the reuptake of norepinephrine and dopamine into the presynaptic neuron and increase their release into the extraneuronal space.
Initial 20 mg orally once daily; may increase in 10-20 mg increments at weekly intervals; maximum 60 mg/day.
Oral, 12.5 mg or 25 mg once daily in the morning.
