GILDAGIA (lixisenatide) is a glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) receptor agonist. It binds to and activates the GLP-1 receptor, increasing glucose-dependent insulin secretion from pancreatic beta cells, suppressing glucagon secretion, slowing gastric emptying, and promoting satiety.
Hydrocortisone is a corticosteroid that binds to the glucocorticoid receptor, leading to anti-inflammatory and immunosuppressive effects by inhibiting phospholipase A2, reducing prostaglandin and leukotriene synthesis, and suppressing cytokine production.
20 mg orally once daily, with or without food.
