HYDRAMINE vs NEOTRIZINE

Antagonist of histamine H1 receptors, preventing histamine-mediated responses such as vasodilation, bronchoconstriction, and increased capillary permeability.
Neotrizine contains sulfadiazine, a competitive inhibitor of dihydropteroate synthase, blocking folic acid synthesis in susceptible bacteria.
50-100 mg IV/IM every 4-6 hours, maximum 400 mg per day. Also available as 50 mg oral tablets.
NEOTRIZINE (sulfamethoxazole/trimethoprim) 800 mg/160 mg orally every 12 hours for 5-14 days, depending on indication.
