LIBRELEASE vs LORAZEPAM
Comparing the clinical profiles, pharmacokinetic behaviors, and safety indices of these two therapeutic agents.
LIBRELEASE is a novel therapeutic agent that modulates neurotransmitter release by binding to presynaptic voltage-gated calcium channels, specifically the alpha-2-delta subunit, thereby reducing calcium influx and subsequent neurotransmitter exocytosis. This results in decreased neuronal excitability and modulation of pain pathways.
Benzodiazepine that enhances GABA-A receptor activity by increasing frequency of chloride channel opening, leading to neuronal hyperpolarization and inhibition.
10 mg once daily, oral, administered in the morning.
2-3 mg orally or IV, 3-4 times daily; maximum 10 mg/day. For anxiety, 0.5-2 mg orally 2-3 times daily. For procedural sedation, IV: 0.044 mg/kg or 2 mg total, may repeat.
