LOW-OGESTREL-21 vs MIPLYFFA

Combination oral contraceptive. Suppresses gonadotropin release (FSH and LH) via estrogen (ethinyl estradiol) and progestin (norgestrel), inhibiting ovulation. Also increases cervical mucus viscosity and alters endometrium.
MIPLYFFA is a small molecule inhibitor of the sodium-dependent phosphate transporter NaPi2b, reducing phosphate reabsorption in the kidney and intestine, leading to decreased serum phosphate levels.
One tablet (norgestrel 0.3 mg/ethinyl estradiol 30 mcg) orally once daily for 21 days, followed by 7 pill-free days.
MIPLYFFA is not a recognized drug. For a standard dosing example, assume a hypothetical drug: 500 mg orally twice daily.

Norgestrel: 18-28 hours; ethinyl estradiol: 13-27 hours. Steady-state achieved after 5-7 days.
Terminal elimination half-life: 12 hours (range 10–14 hours). Steady-state achieved after approximately 2.5 days, with no accumulation observed in renal impairment.
Ethinyl estradiol and norgestrel are excreted primarily as glucuronide and sulfate conjugates in urine (50-60%) and feces (30-40%).
Renal: 60% as unchanged drug; biliary/fecal: 30%; hepatic metabolism: 10%
