Low-Quel is a combination product containing an opioid agonist and a non-opioid analgesic. The opioid component acts on mu-opioid receptors in the central nervous system to alter pain perception, while the non-opioid component inhibits cyclooxygenase enzymes, reducing prostaglandin synthesis and providing additive analgesia.
Combination of ethinyl estradiol (estrogen) and norethindrone (progestin) suppresses gonadotropin (FSH and LH) release from the pituitary, inhibiting ovulation, altering cervical mucus to impede sperm penetration, and inducing endometrial changes that reduce implantation likelihood.
10 mg orally twice daily; not to exceed 20 mg/day.
One tablet orally once daily for 21 days, followed by 7 days off, then repeat.
