IV: 1-4 g as a 10-20% solution, rate not exceeding 1 g/min; for eclampsia: 4-5 g IV bolus then 1-2 g/hour IV infusion.
Intravenous: 0.9% sodium chloride (normal saline) infusion at 50-100 mL/hour for maintenance; dose depends on indication (e.g., 500-1000 mL bolus for hypovolemia). Maximum rate: 1 L/hour in emergencies.
