Methylphenidate is a central nervous system stimulant. It blocks the reuptake of dopamine and norepinephrine into presynaptic neurons, increasing their concentrations in the synaptic cleft.
MYDAYIS is a fixed-dose combination of amphetamine and dextroamphetamine, which are non-catecholamine sympathomimetic amines with CNS stimulant activity. The mechanism of action in ADHD is not fully elucidated, but they block the reuptake of norepinephrine and dopamine into the presynaptic neuron and increase their release into the extraneuronal space.
10 mg orally twice daily, administered 4-6 hours apart; doses may be adjusted in 5-10 mg increments weekly up to 60 mg/day.
Oral, 12.5 mg or 25 mg once daily in the morning.
