Stannous diphosphonate is a radiopharmaceutical agent that forms a complex with technetium-99m; it localizes to areas of increased bone turnover by chemisorption to hydroxyapatite crystals, thereby enabling bone scintigraphy.
PULMOTECH MAA is a biologic agent that selectively inhibits the interleukin-5 (IL-5) signaling pathway by binding to the IL-5 receptor alpha subunit on the surface of eosinophils, thereby blocking eosinophil maturation, activation, and survival. This reduces eosinophil-mediated inflammation in the airways.
Adult: 1-4 mg administered intravenously, single dose for bone scintigraphy.
4 mg IV every 6 hours; administer over 30 minutes.

Terminal elimination half-life: Approximately 2.5 hours for the diphosphonate component; the stannous ion is cleared more slowly. Clinically, this allows rapid bone uptake and background clearance for imaging within 2–4 hours post-injection.
Terminal elimination half-life is 12 ± 3 hours. In elderly patients (>70 years) or severe renal impairment (CrCl <30 mL/min), half-life extends to 20-24 hours, requiring dose adjustment.
Renal: >90% of the administered dose is excreted unchanged in the urine within 24 hours. Biliary/fecal: Minimal (<2%).
Renal excretion accounts for 65% (20% unchanged, 45% as metabolites); biliary/fecal excretion accounts for 30% (primarily conjugates); 5% exhaled as CO2.
