For trimester-specific risks: first trimester: potential for orofacial clefts and limb defects; second/third trimesters: risk of maternal tachycardia and hypoglycemia in neonate; labor inhibition near term; possible neonatal transient hypoglycemia.

PROAIR HFA

Primarily a rescue inhaler for acute asthma exacerbations. Not for maintenance therapy. Shake well before each use. Prime with 3 test sprays when new or not used for >2 weeks. Use spacer device to improve lung deposition and reduce oropharyngeal side effects. Monitor for paradoxical bronchospasm. Tachycardia and hypokalemia can occur with overuse. Replace canister after 200 actuations.

PROAIR RESPICLICK

PROAIR RESPICLICK is a breath-actuated inhaler containing albuterol sulfate, a short-acting beta-2 agonist (SABA). It does not require coordination between actuation and inhalation, making it suitable for patients with difficulty using traditional MDIs. Priming is needed after 7 days of non-use or if dropped; shake well before each use. Monitor for paradoxical bronchospasm and excessive use indicating poorly controlled asthma.
