SALPIX (sodium chloride 0.9%, benzyl alcohol 0.9%) is a sterile, nonpyrogenic isotonic solution. Radiopharmaceutical agent: selenium-75 decays by electron capture to arsenic-75 with emission of gamma photons. Used as a tracer for pancreatic imaging due to incorporation into pancreatic enzymes. Localizes in pancreas via protein synthesis.
SALPIX (hysterosalpingography contrast medium) is administered intrauterine as a single dose of 10-20 mL, instilled slowly under fluoroscopic guidance. No systemic dosing; procedure is diagnostic.
