Penicillin V exerts bactericidal activity by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis through binding to penicillin-binding proteins (PBPs), inhibiting transpeptidase activity, and disrupting peptidoglycan cross-linking.
VEETIDS '500' (cefuroxime axetil) is a second-generation cephalosporin antibiotic that inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis by binding to penicillin-binding proteins (PBPs), thereby blocking transpeptidation and leading to cell lysis. It has activity against both gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria.
250-500 mg orally every 6 hours for mild to moderate infections; 500 mg orally every 6 hours for severe infections.
1 tablet (500 mg) orally twice daily for 7 days.
