Clinical management of Abnormal Uterine Bleeding in Uganda

General Measures

Ferrous sulphate 1 tablet once or twice daily.

Fibroid suspected

Analgesics, iron supplement, refer for ultrasound.

Postmenopausal Bleeding

Refer for specialist assessment (rule out endometrial pathology).

Investigations

Pregnancy test (exclude abortion/ectopy), Hb level, vaginal examination, ultrasound.
