Delirium — Uganda (General Adult population)
General Management
Identify and treat cause (malaria, UTI, substance withdrawal). Ensure hydration, safe environment. Withhold unnecessary medicines.
Agitation/Disturbance
Haloperidol 5 mg IM; repeat after 60 min if necessary. Maintenance: 1.25-5 mg every 8-12 hours. Alternatively, Chlorpromazine 25-50 mg or Trifluoperazine 5-10 mg every 12 hours.
