Emergency Pill (LNG)

Levonorgestrel 1.5 mg stat (or 0.75 mg x 2) as soon as possible (ideally <72 hours, up to 5 days).

Women on ARVs

Double the dose of Levonorgestrel (3 mg).

Emergency IUD

Copper IUD insertion within 5 days of unprotected sex. Most effective EC method.

Note

Does not cause abortion. If regular use occurs, counsel on routine FP methods.
