Giardiasis — Uganda (General Adult population)
Clinical Features
Often asymptomatic. Prolonged diarrhoea, steatorrhoea. Abdominal cramps, bloating. Fatigue, weight loss. Malabsorption of fats and fat-soluble vitamins. Severe infection may cause reactive arthritis.
Investigations
Stool examination for cysts and trophozoites.
