Clinical management of Gingivitis and ANUG in Uganda

Mouthwash

Warm salt solution OR Hydrogen Peroxide 6% (15ml in 200ml water) 3 times daily.

Bacterial/ANUG

Metronidazole 400 mg every 8 hours for 5 days. Avoid in 1st trimester.

Severe (Noma)

Refer urgently. Associated with malnutrition and HIV.
